With over 130+ members, the UB Accounting Association (UBAA) is the largest student accounting organization at the University at Buffalo.

We host activities and events that develop networking, communication, and teamwork skills and provide insight into all career paths available in the accounting field. Through mentorship opportunities, technical presentations, and community and social events, members can improve their skills in enjoyable and creative ways.

UBAA is affiliated with the Institute of Internal Auditors, which helps broaden student knowledge and provides members with personal and professional development opportunities through education, association with area business professionals, and professional certification in internal auditing.

Simply put, we are a club by the students, for the students. We are a community eager to help each other succeed and grow personally and professionally as we move through the accounting program.

Our Goal

Provide members with a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where each member has equal opportunities to grow and develop the soft skills vital to career success.

Technicals

Every semester, we invite over 15 companies to engage with our members. These sessions allow students to meet and network with professionals and recruiters, gaining valuable insights into professional development, current business trends, and internship and employment opportunities. This initiative provides an excellent platform for students to build meaningful connections and enhance their career prospects.

Socials

We offer several socials every semester to foster connections between peers. These events are casual, allowing students to take a break from work and focus on enjoying their time at UB. Past socials have included the Ampadu Bowl, Game Nights, Bowling, and a Scavenger Hunt around campus!

Volunteering

Every spring, we participate in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), assisting low-income community members in completing their tax returns.

Mentorship

Peer-to-Peer Mentor Program:
Our peer-to-peer mentor program pairs experienced upperclassmen with newer members. This program fosters a supportive environment where students can share knowledge, experiences, and advice.

Food

It's free.

What else can I say?

Accounting Advisory Council Mentorship:

We also offer members the opportunity to be paired with seasoned industry professionals who offer insights into the accounting field, career advice, and networking opportunities.
